Turkey Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1 c bread crumbs
- 1/3 c grated cheese
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
Pre-heat over to 400. Smash the contents of the onion soup mix. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl by hand. Roll out balls about 1/2 inch big. Place in 13x9in pan lined with foil. Bake until internal temp reaches 165 degrees about 30 minutes. Check with thermometer.
I sometimes like to throw them in a pan of olive oil to give them a nice crust before baking. This seals in the flavors and makes them crispy. It's not as healthy but it does make a difference in flavor.
Also, I sometimes like to dunk them in BBQ sauce half way through and let them BBQ sauce get sticky on them. They come out awesome just like that.
